Well actually I do, the collection was inspired and dedicated to all the tsunami victims in Japan... Do you get the Geisha Chic feel?

ELIE SAAB Fall Winter Haute Couture 2011

There is no one like Elie Saab when it comes to beautiful gowns, and many of these I expect we will be seeing on the next Red Carpet Season. I loved the use of soft hues like ivory, aqua, pearl, a silvery gray, bronze and  even a pale blue that reminded me of the color of Cinderella's dress! All embellished with Swaroski crystals, sequins, beads, sparkles and more.

Giambattista Valli's FIRST Haute Couture show was formed by 45 beautiful day and evening pieces.  The most amazing thing is, the pieces had such heavy craftmanship, that as the models were walking, you could even hear the sound of the dresses over the music. Coral, georgette crepe,  ostrich feathers, tweed and crystals were some of the materials used.

CHANEL Haute Couture Fall Winter 2011

My favorite time of the year... Paris Haute Couture went as fast as it came...however it was bitter sweet without one of my favorite designers on the scene... John Galliano! Nonetheless the whole week was full of fabulous and incredibly beautiful collections that for all of you little ponies, I got the videos so that you can check them out! You will not be seeing the Dior show, because honestly, even though Bill Gaytten put together a collection that had a reminiscent feel of Galliano ...it did not convince me.

Anyway, let's start with CHANEL... ahhh what can I say, as always Mr. Langerfeld outdid himself, beautiful suits, a lot of tweed suits, the constant use of black and white, the silhouettes were definitely the star, and don't get me started on the gowns... also a new bag was introduced, the "BOY BAG". Take a look!!





Of course there had to be the androgynous element, and Karl managed to convey it on this new bag as well!!! Ok guys, I'm happy to introduce you to THE BOY BAG!

CM MARKET HR11-12

Fashion has always been in constant movement, however fast fashion stores like H&M and Forever 21 are pushing designers into creating more and more often, but without losing the essence and quality that defines them. For those of you who don't know, the fashion world, just like our own, moves in seasons. There are two main seasons, Spring-Summer and Fall-Winter, however because of this "fast fashion" in recent years we have become familiar with seasons like PreFall and Holiday Resort (also known as Cruise).

Just a week ago, Market HR11-12 finished, at least in the company I'm currently interning for, Catherine Malandrino. Market is the period of time (it could be from a week to a month), where the company shows the collection in the showroom exclusively to buyers. This season, the collections were shown in the NYC showroom and in Milan (however Lookbooks and linelists are also sent via mail and email, since not everyone can come now, and then come back in September for next season).

Anyway the fun part of this was not only meeting the buyers, getting appointments with the impossible ones, and getting coffee for them (yes I actually did that), but what happens behind the curtains. Getting to know the collection, identifying when the linelists were incorrect, getting the showroom ready, keeping it tidy, knowing and understanding the different stories each delivery is telling. A delivery my friends, is just how it sounds, when the clothes are going to be delivered to the customer. However, the collection is divided in deliveries, so that there is always new stuff on the stores (makes sense now that you think about it huh?)

So anyway, after this brief Market class, now the fun part, I would like to share with you some pictures I took of Kata  on some pieces of the Catherine Malandrino Holiday Resort 11-12 collection!!!

Now, I just want to say, I took this pictures because this pieces were not part of the lookbook...However if I get the chance, I'll try to get some High resolution pictures of the really cool pieces of the collection!

A Blahnik affair!

When I first heard there was going to be a Tous and Manolo Blahnik collaboration I had no idea what to expect...shoes with encrusted bears maybe? Ew! Luckily I was wrong.

So, over a month ago I was invited to an event at the TOUS store in the Rockefeller center. It was hosted by Tous and Elle, and the theme of the event was the new collaboration of Tous and Manolo Blahnik. The star was the famous and beautiful Manolo Blahnik Campari Mary Janes (Yes, the ones Carrie finds in the Vogue closet when the old dude drops his pants!), but made by Tous into a pretty little pendant.

 For all of you that love these shoes, and can't afford them, now you can have them, for a much affordable price, and hanging on your neck!

The event was fun, a lot of NYC bloggers were invited (including me HA!), I got to meet the PR girls and THE Accesories Senior Editor from Elle Magazine!!

The dress code was WEAR HILLS, and when we entered, we had a picture taken of our shoes. Supposedly the best hills would get a gift... obviously it wasn't me because I didn't get anything, but, you  will find MY favorite shoes spotted!!
