It's been more than a year since Galliano's rampage… and finally, yesterday April 9th Dior appointed designer RAF SIMONS as Creative director of the house. His first collection will be shown during Couture Week in July.
The belgian designer, who was Jil Sander's creative director for 10 years, announced his leaving the house after his highly praised Fall 12 show in Milan. It is rumored than even John Galliano gave his praises to this show.
Simons promises a new modern Dior, without forgetting to look back at its aesthetic legacy. After all, he is only the 6th designer to be in charge of the House of Dior, preceeded by Christian Dior, Yves Sait Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre and John Galliano.
I have to say, I am not the biggest Jil Sander fan, but I'm interested to see what this talented designer has to offer.
Here are some images of his latest collections.
